Quote of the moment: No Trespassing violators will be used as guinea pigs in ongoing government research.
Happy asorted winter holidday everyone.
I had to do some driving this year, It was nice to see everyone else in their newer cars, even my families with the exact same snow tyres, getting stuck every where, while I cruised threw in my little 48 hp hatchback. My brothers girlfriend really liked the present I gave them. I got some of the books I asked for and a cool little digital anglefinder.
On the book front. I'm reading The know it all. It's written as the author reads Encyclopdia Britannica, all 33,000 pages. So it is kind of a funny coles notes for the Encyclopaedia. I would recomend it to anyone who like a good fact or two, or enjoys an odd quest. I will give you this warning you will read out a lot of this book to anyone around you, parents, friends, roommates, lovers beware.
Phryne was a famous prostitute in ancient greece. When on trial for blasphemy, a capital offense she enployed and interesting defence in the words of the britannica she (tore her dress and displayed her bosum, which so moved the jury that they acquitted her.)
oh I guess you should add blog readers to that list too.
part way threw the book the author decided to see if any other living person has read the entire set A to Z. I found it rather interesting who he came up with for the only other one, at time of writing it turns out.Michael DeBakey. Other people who are known to have read it a to z are George Bernard Shaw, Richard Feynman and C.S. Forester (twice)
