So, my 17 inch Macbook Pro's hard drive has crashed out on me and it's currently in the shop attempting to recover the data then replace the HD. If my damn WD My Book Live would work as it was supposed to, there would be no risk of data lost since I had set up Time Machine to back up daily. Would have been great to know that the backups were screwing up, but I'm hopeful that I'm able to get the sparsebundle file to register as valid. Seems it's a common issue with the WD, but I won't have to worry about that once I wrap up this attempt to recover the data. I've got a Time Capsule set up and ready, so there's no worries about the backups in the future. So, seeing as I tend to splurge for tech I'm typing this up on my new 15 inch Macbook Pro Retina. I didn't think the SSD would be as big a difference as it's proven to be, especially in the weight department. My roommates shall benefit since I'm setting the 17 inch up as a spare that they can use. I'm pondering getting a dock and a monitor for it as well, but that'll be a bit later. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S5 that should be here tomorrow, I'm swapping my iPhone 4s for it and winding up saving a fair bit of money by doing so. Selling off the 4s is giving me enough to buy the S5 with a new contract, and giving up my unlimited data plan is cutting my bill in half as well. I should have looked over my data usage sooner, since I've barely used over 1 gig of data for many months. All in all it'll work out well I suppose.
