once again, the anti-roommate used up all the hot water this morning so i arrive at work unshowered and pissed off. it's -15C and snowing here today, a far cry from friday's rain and nearly positive temps. the weather here is fickle, like a neglected mistress trying to remind you she could still ruin your life, or in this case, freeze your ass off.
DnDness went fantastically last night. i'm playing a character i love more than any i've played before and the wonderful geeks i spend my sunday evenings with were gaming like they haven't in months. it was wonderful. add to that a slightly twisted GM, a lesbian undertone, political conspiracies, and dark carvings of death scenes and it leaves me wanting sunday to come faster than it has in a while.
the weekend was lovely. i spent minimal time at the computer and maximum time relaxing with the guy and playing Lost Kingdoms. we had to return the game yesterday (it was rented), so we're considering actually purchasing it as it provided much enjoyment for us both. then there wouldn't be limits on how quickly we had to finish things and we could pick it up again at any time. this of course depends on money, etc.
i finally start going to the gym today. i signed up at a fitness centre downtown last week and today's my first official visit. i'm somewhat freaked out about it as i'm so very out of shape right now (NO cardio), but i'm hoping it will be worth it all when i can go backpacking this year and not be tired out and not want to go on anymore after a kilometer. a few years ago, my goal would have been to lose any weight i don't like (my thighs, my ass), but now it's become about getting healthier and being able to do the things i like without being embarassed that i'm out of breath after a half hour. so we'll see how it goes.
and since i know you're waiting for it:
1. name a fantasy character (race or specific character) that you are the most fond of. if fantasy characters aren't your thing, tell me why.
2. quick, pick an insect!
3. what's the last type of fruit you ate?
4. give me a topic to write a haiku about (i'm not saying i'll do it, but i might try)
my answers:
1. elves. pixies. or winged elves. though dwarves make me giggle.
2. lady beetle
3. starfruit
4. starfruit
five ridges outside
waxy skin over sweet flesh
malachite greetings
monday
es for you
