Day off!!!
No rigs, no teaching, so out came the old (old) bike for a bit of a spin.
Test ride in the paddock, not concentrating, and hit a spot where the horses had been pawing. Bike ok, me a bit knocked around, ego, massively shattered as I was getting that euphoric "The world is mine." manic grin, just prior to unplanned and grossely undignified...

36 degrees C today, cracked the ton in farenheit, so i was into the shed to work on the old trumpy - rebuild and clean the carbs, replace coils and leads etc. Then ride baby, ride!!!

However, Fosters is the last resort of desert abandoned and lost travellers who can no longer produce their own urine. Which is why they sell it overseas. Should you stumble upon a Coopers sparkling or pale ale, may I recomment this traditionally, in the bottle brewed, and gastronomically orgasmic elixer and gift of the gods of hops.
Until then, may the heating and fine warming beverages in your part of the cooling world bring you luck and love!!

Back in the desert today, the fires from last weeks lightning strikes are still burning, and the wind is up, smoke, sand, flies, and closed roads due to fire risk, excellent!!!!
Hope it rains soon, the vegetation which has come due to last years unseasonal rains is burning way too fast!

It's always the little ones who suffer in fast burns. The snakes, lizards and small mammals. If their in their burrows, the speed of the fire can go over the top ot them so quickly their unharmed, but if their out, or non burrow critters, well, it sucks.

Depends what I'm given on the day. Anything from specialist maths (differential calculus etc), to reluctant learners in which we analyse crane and rig mishaps (preferably fatal), in terms of mathematical engineering and planning failure - always get's their attention, to work ed (okish) to arts - hoplessly inadequate.
A relief teachers life is always stimulating. (Actually more exhausting than a 14 hr day in the field)
Did I say I have the best life?? Physical and mental challenge in the field, and mental gymnastics in the classroom when I get home. Life is great!
