I'm so happy at the moment.
Snobs Denial Breeds Drunken Desire.

Rich and I went out for a few jars in town last night and talked long and hard about everything in the world. Starting at Subside, our cool new 'rock bar dive' on Paradise Circus, to which we have become a kind of regular. It's a nice bar and the staff are friendly (and kinda hot
), plus I can take a metal/rock bar better than an indie one. Bad metal and hardcore that gets played in those places doesn't grate on me like bad indie, if I hear a Misfits/Megadeath/generic rawk song I don't really like it makes me laugh, if I hear The Smiths/Bad NME indie it fuels my desire to kill!!
We then retired to the Actress and Bishop for the remainder of the evening. Where they played like 7 Stone Roses songs in a row, I hate the Stone Roses. Rich loves em, as do all my other band mates, so he felt forced to call Chris and make merriment down the phone to him about how funny it was, bastards. Then we spent a good hour dancing our asses off, mostly alone, to 90s ultimate cheese. The DJ, a mowhawk sporting dirty hardcore boy complete with vintage biker jacket, knew all the classics, Scatman, Take That, Blue by whoever that is and all those silly school disco tunes you know the whole way through and are not sure how. We weren't even that drunk, we were drunk of course, but after being denied a clubbing experience on wednesday due to band stuff it was great to shake our thangs.
The staff appreciated the humour I think and by the time we left we'd managed to get most of the pub up and dancing via being so shameless.
DDR: How it changed their life.

Off to see a Madchester mate today, he and a couple of his friends are DDR wizzkids and have stopped over in Brum with me to get some drinking and practice in before the UK chamionship finals at MCM Expo tomoz. They all rule at it and everytime I see em practice they draw a crowd. DDR with juggling, DDR with drinking, DDR with costumes.... it has so much secret cool.
I can't do it for toffee and I like watching people do amazing things I simply cannot do to that level. Tom (a real old friend from my days in Wales) didn't get into the finals, but his boys from Manc did so he's tagging along roadie style. They're the best kind of sportsman, they just don't take any of it seriously. It isn't that serious, but still, some of the American competetors get really really serious about DDR, but these geeks don't scare me, lol.
Also, thanks to the beautiful people of SG you're contact is much appreciated and it's a great part of the brew that's making me smile at the moment. xx
