Haha, so I had to post this because I found it very interesting...

So my husband and I we're really stoned the other night watching the Disney channel and we got in a debate about, "What is Goofy?"



I always thought Goofy was a dog but the thing that's weird is Pluto is a dog. Sooo, if they're both dogs why is one more intelligent compared to the other? So I turned on the computer and started to hunt down what is Goofy? If he was a dog for one and two if he was what the hell is wrong with Pluto?



So this is what I found out...
Goofy, originally named Dippy Dawg, was created as a dog character. So it is established Goofy is a dog! This is what Disney says about the topic of the debate on Pluto and Goofy though... Goofy was created as a human character, as opposed to Pluto, who was a pet, so he walked upright and had a speaking voice.

Now this vague answer on why Pluto is technically handicap in comparison to Goofy just doesn't sit right with me
