I just really listened to Prince for the first time today. He's a pretty good. So much so he's getting added to my list of favorite bands. The album was Parade and my favorite song was "New Position". I always thought I might like his music as he's a fellow gemini and he seems to have just about as short a musical attention span as I do.
I like almost any music in limited doses but if it ends up being predictable enough that I can tell where it's gonna go I usually get sick of it.
It's hard to believe I used to be in a pop punk band. That was nine years ago but still . . . The Virgin Boy Wonders, we sounded like a cross between Green Day and the Descendents. I wrote songs about having crushes on cheerleaders and being ugly social retarded teenage super heroes. Yeah well I was in high school so what else was I gonna right songs about?

and the narrator is kindof a character too; because it's clear that the narrator is a human, and the very start of the comic and the very end of the comic (and some stray pages here and there between chapters) are all about the narrator's kinda going over, a little sadly, her own run-ins with the mer, and the aftermath etc...
basically, the plot is kinda that each of the main characters goes through a little brief interaction with the opposite species, and at the end of each chapter somewhat of normalcy is restored and the species return to their respective regions... so there's not really some grand plot; more like a theme for lots of little plots
maybe that makes sense.... ah well
