Did you ever have one of those moments you WISH you could have back again because you didn't have the proper response?
Saturday night I spent an ungodly amount of time trying to meet up with a friend of mine. Horrid traffic, a fire, general NYC parking craziness, mixed messages and a slew of other obstacles all conspired to keep us apart for 3 hours. At one point we were on the same street in front of the same restaurant yelling into our cell phones because it was so crowded and crazy. (fucking trendy meat packing district!)
Finally my friend said that she was in a place called Pop Burger. Pop Burger is one of those rediculous places that should be in LA-it's an insanely priced burger place during the day, and becomes some sort of nightclub at night. Whatever.
So after trying to meet up with this girl for 3 HOURS, I walk into Pop Burger where I'll finally see her, only to be stopped at the door by some Jessica Simpson type and told that I couldn't come in wearing shorts.
I'll let that sink in for a moment-I wasn't allowed in a BURGER PLACE wearing shorts.
What I said was a very witty, "FUCK YOU!" and then I turned on my heels and left, but the incident honestly did ruin my night because I never met my friend.
What I SHOULD have done (and I thought of this response 30 seconds later-damnit!) was simply taken off my shorts and proceeded to walk past the girl into the bar.
Wouldn't that have been great?
I wish I had that moment back.
