I like the word "boggled" because it's the only verb I know that is used with only one subject, which is, of course, the mind. Nothing can be boggled but the mind. Nobody even says "boggles the brain". It's always the mind.
Then again you would never say "mind surgery".
An increase in security measures anywhere will invariably be described as security being "beefed up".
I think it's weird that the word "biscuits" describes totally different things in America and the UK. Well not TOTALLY different. They both describe snacky foodstuffs. But they're pretty different.
