Last night I went to see the movie "Defiance", with Daniel Craig. If you haven't heard about it, it's about a group of Jewish brothers in Poland who escape the Nazis and then sort of become guerilla freedom fighters and end up caring for and rescuing 1200 Jews. They lived out the entire war in the woods where they fled to, built and organized an entire village and resistance movement. I wasn't particularly interested in the film until my friend Sara-who, along with her sister Brooke I've known for 7 years- told me casually she was going to a screening because she's a descendant of some of the people depicted in the movie. It turns out that her GRANDFATHER was one of the brothers who led the whole movement. In other words, I was watching a movie about her grandfather's life. I was watching her grandfather fight the Nazis.
The movie wasn't fantastic. It was solid, but a bit flawed. But the story is AMAZING. And to know that it's Sara and Brooke's family story is remarkable.

Thank you hun, I' glad you like it. I;d love a parrot too but they take so much work, I just haven't the time! I've only see a trailer for that movie, I'm not sure it's out here yet but it looked like an interesting story
