I haven't updated in a really long time because whenever I sat down to do so I had this overwhelming feeling that no one should care what's going on with me because I haven't really been doing anything. Well my pretties, the tides had changed, and it feels to me that things have actually been quite eventfull. So, so as I may lay waste to any sense of tedium in your own lives, here is a quick rundown of everything that's been going on in the land of BecomingX in the last month or so.
WORK: I got someone fired. One of the other managers actually. Well, I didn't mean for it to 'go down' the way it did in the end, but it was a direct result of my actions. Since I'm new getting back to all of the manager paperwork at my job, I know I'm going to make mistakes, I've accepted that. Problem is that it looks like one of the senior managers took advantage of that. A couple weeks ago I couldn't figure out why my safe kept coming up $25 short, so I got one of the other managers to count it, and he confirmed that is was short and told me to go home and he'd look after the safe untill the closing manager got there. Before I left, I took another look at my cash sheet and was like "hey, am I just retarded? Did I do this equation wrong? Cuz if so it looks like I'm actually $25 over" and this guy looked it over again and said "no, for sure you're short". Turns out I actually was plus, and magically between my leaving and the closing manager coming in that $25 went missing. At first me and the closing manager were going to have to pay for it and they were going to investigate us for theft, because the upper management didn't know that this guy had taken over my safe before I left. So once I told them, they came out and told me that apparently this guy had been suspected of theft several times before and they suspended him indefinately. So that was crazy, and I had insane guilt for a while, but apparently he's done the exact same thing to new managers after taking over their cash, just taken advantage of their uncertainty, so in the end I don't feel too badly.
HOME: Steve and I have an apartment! Hooray for us! We got approved last week and I am so stoked. Totally having a housewarming party, and somebody had better bring me a housewarming cactus. It's a one bedroom on the third floor of a walk-up with a balcony that faces a courtyard, and there are a bunch of leafy trees right in front of our balcony so it's super private and shady. And to top it off ARETE gave us a couch and loveseat for FREE. We now have everything but a bed and a microwave. Super stoked. Oh baby. I'm so excited to go to a place I can call my home where I don't have to hear every tedious detail of my dad's day EXAMPLE (and I'm, sadly, not exagerating): "I had a good day. This morning I made myself some toast and eggs before work, had some marmalade with it, very nice breakfast. Got a lot of stuff done at the office, I was talking to my friend Ying during lunch and we figured out something for the station in Brandon and ......" or my sisters overdramatic ramblings about all of her crazy friends and how stressfull it is for her to have so many guys in love with her. That and not having to lock everything in my room so she doesn't steal and then break all of my worldly possessions. Ah, siblings.
VACATION: Well, the boy toy and I were supposed to go to Folk Fest over last weekend. Unfortunately, no one else I knew was going to be there because of school or not having enough money etc etc, which sucked because the line up this year was killer. So, since we both had the time booked off anyways, we decided to just drive west and see how far we'd get. So we got to Calgary. It was awesome. We camped in Bow Valley (between Calgary and Canmore) right at the foot of a mountain, so when we woke up in the morning and stepped out of the tent we would see mountains right beside us. For a prairie girl, it was incredible. The weather was perfect, the people were awesome. The only thing was the 12+ hours it took to drive there and back, I seriously never wanted to see the inside of a car again. LOL. But cramped legs aside, it was totally worth it.
Anerways, this has been incredibly long, so I will now away, as I also have to go to work and boss people around.

How have you been enjoying the mad crazy heat? We've been melting into little puddles over here at our place.
Your new place sounds awesome! I'd maim someone for a nice balcony right now. Go, Arete! That's nice of her to give away free stuff. We got a newish bed from my grandparents, and our hide-a-bed in the living room was also a freebie from a friend of mine. Yay freebies!
Seems like you've been having a loverly summer so far.
Maybe some day, us Winnipeg SGers will get together and we can all meet for reals. There was talk about a picnic some time ago, but since I work weekends, it's kinda hard to find a good time to have it and do all the organizing. But there's still quite a bit of summer left, so we'll see what happens...
Nikonjustice knows all about crazy kitchen heat, I'm actually lucky because my work is air-conditioned and less physical, so I don't get uber-sweaty.
