Life:
In the two weeks since my boss promoted someone to manager, he's made him fire three people. I think he's really starting to question whether the job is worth it. I'm really starting to be afraid that I'm next. I've only been working their for for a month and a half, and everyone I work with is newer than me. It's kinda freaky. I've never even considered being fired before, but as far as I can tell it's a hobby for this guy.
I swear to god it's true:
Tonight I got off work at around 1:30am. I walk outside towards my car, and as I pull out my keys and cell phone they clink together. A middle aged (possibly homeless) man who is walking past stops short and is visibly startled. At this point my phone is already up to my ear, ringing.
Him: What was that? That sounded like a gun!
Me: Oh, I'm sorry. It was just my keys.
Him: Haven't you ever heard a gun being cocked?
Me: Uh, no, I haven't. Sorry.
I start walking away.
Him (nicely but urgently): Wait a minute, can I please have a moment of your time?
Me (at a loss): Uh, I'm kinda...
Him: Just hang up your phone and talk to me for a minute.
Me: I can't really...
At this point Ryan answers his phone, I tell him to hang on for a minute, and I look at the guy. He leans toward me, looks at me intently, and tells me that he loves me.
I thank him as politely as I can and leave as quickly as possible.
Other:
I was going to tell a long story about a monk and Nancy Drew and my mystery, but I'm way too tired, so I'll just wait until I have more developments and/or pictures. It's something to look forward to, trust me.
