So you’re stuck at home due to the pandemic but you’d like to shoot a new set. Why not try shooting yourself? We’ve put together a nifty step-by-step guide to walk you through it :)
We’re even going to host a self-shot set contest! We’ll select the best self-shot sets submitted through the end of May to bump into Member Review on June 1st. From those sets we’ll be selecting a winner who will be featured as Set of the Day on June 15th, earning $1000! Woo! Be sure to tag your set "selfshotcontest" once its accepted for Member Review so we can easily find it.

Not only is this a great idea to keep creativity and positivity (and content) flowing through this global rough patch, but it also encourages more of the raw experimentation that characterized the site's earlier days. What a great way to make lemonade out of @lemon, no? I'd love to see @amra, @liasworld @angiewa, @zeen, @iluna, @luciloser, @chroi, @breeze, @mailinya take a stab. Of COURSE at least try, @amra! So many sets are just shot in a bedroom or living room anyway. I think another cool thing about this kind of event is that the stakes are lower, so hopefully everybody can feel less precious and more free to fuck up. Because fucking up is a necessary part of getting better, and if you're not stressed about it it's FUN to fuck up a bit. Go too far and see where it takes you. And there's much beauty in simplicity.

I don't know, @mailinya - I'd be very interested to see what people could do with just their phones. Limitations make great art. Maybe that's another challenge for some other time. Would be really cool to see what could be done ENTIRELY on the phone, including editing and processing, since there are so many capable apps now.

I have a generic question... The competition is going to be hard, and only one set will win the contest and get paid 1000$, that means that the other sets will lose all the chances for being selected as set of the day, days or weeks later, and get paid the regular rates?
