One of the benefits of being disreputable, I found, is getting to hang out in disreputable bars: the drinks are cheaper, you can almost always get the bartender's attention, the pool table (or snooker table if you're lucky) is almost always open, it's usually quiet, it's always dark, and you don't have to worry about anybody looking at you, so a fashionable outfit and good hair aren't required.

Find yourself a neighborhood bar frequented by geriatrics. The drinks'll be cheap, and there'll be free entertainment, anthropologically speaking, too.
