elaboration:
first, this site is a far cry from what it used to be. not that that's necessarily a bad thing... but here's an example:
i go to a club on sunday nights. its a goth/industrial club. the coolest thing was that so few people showed up, and everybody knew everybody else and respected each other and we ALWAYS had fun because we could dance and do our thing and it was an atmosphere of kinship. yeah, its on sundays and im sure people couldnt make it because of work on monday or whatever - but there were the few of us that were able to see past that and get out and enjoy each others company. now it's been moved to saturdays and this once comfortable, quiet, unique gathering of people has exploded into this elitist mob of hundreds. and its just a bummer and I dont feel like going anymore because you just get there and you're lost in the frey and nobody cares about each other. it's just a shame and I feel sad for it because here was this once beautiful and unique thing that's just become bloated with everything we kinda used to hate. there's advertising everywhere, free this, free that, contest this, marketing that...
anyway. nonsense and rambling. maybe i think SG is just starting to become bloated. I can't seem to find any place in here where people really seem to care about what i've got to say... and believe me, I've tried! I've been trying for years. and people come and go. and that's just the way it goes i guess in cyberspace. let he who has posted the most blogs be the most respected.
i think i just see a lot of opinions and attitudes around here that remind me of just how snotty and elitist some people can be... and this total attitude of favoritism and the "blog-age" politics that have come to dominate cyberspace.... and sadly suicidegirls, of all places.
I may not blog as much as some of these people, but that doesnt make me less of a person. i may not have as many tattoo's as he does, or go to as many shows as she does.................... but for fucks sake......
anyway, there's not getting off this train we're on. and sure I'll stick around because, lets all admit it, the girls are gorgeous and the site is pretty fun. and who can't turn away this fancy new fucking design. flashy and consumer friendly!! and there's a handful of people here who've stuck with me and I thank you all: sneeker, kelland, vinci, dingoes, darksphere, needie, rory, cheshcat, idjiit, and all the rest. thanks guys. you make it worth it.
here's a sweet album cover from one of the most terrifying albums I've ever heard. the group is "lustmord", the album is "heresy", and the painting is "the great day of his wrath" by john martin. thanks vinci for the headsup:
