A lot of members freely post their personal addresses and or contact info in the groups and can do so with the comfort of knowing that only trusted and active members of the site will have access to that information.
I've lived in several locales as well as traveled around so I've been in quite a few of the regional groups at one time or another. The process is pretty much standard for all of them.
Unfortunately the thread you just started is one giant step in the wrong direction for you. Hopefully you can recover gracefully.
