Good morning.
As always, I thought I'd begin the new year with all kinds of half promised good intentions. All of which fall into the usual catagories...eat less, sleep more, exercise and generally try to become better than I am!
I've also decided to make an effort to keep some kind of journal going on this site. Something I've never done before, and hopefully a good experience. I'm liking the idea of having somewhere to offload my thoughts and ideas; even in the event of no-one being around to experience them or no-one giving a rats ass.
So whats new?.....Well, so far the year's been good. I'm still working my way through some awesome gifts given to me on Christmas day. Mostly books and films.
Highlights include the Led Zepplin DVD (live at Earls Court, Madison Square Gardens etc) Absolutely fantastic, definately recommended.
Also, a book called "The earth from the air". It's by a photographer called Yann Arthus-Bertrand. It basically illustrates how beautiful the planet is and how humans are fucking it up in a big way.
Music news....The wife bought me a cool Theolonius Monk CD which has been the soundtrack to the last few days. All good.
In terms of my new years intentions, I've been getting in some good exercise. Swam a mile yesterday, pretty pleased with that. Just got to keep the motivation there and not let things slip. Gonna dust off the weights tonight and try to make some progress there.
By nature I'm not the fitness type, so this is probably gonna be a big challenge for me. We'll see.
New years eve for me was no party. Work has left me tired (retail) and I was in bed way before midnight. To be honest it felt good not going through the motions and forcing that party situation. For now, just give me a comfortable bed and a long stretch of deep sleep. I'll be happy with that.
Anyway friends, I'll leave it at that for now. Just wanted to break the ice. Watch this space and I'll keep in touch.
