Acoustics in Long Beach are weird.
Standing outside, having a smoke in front of our loft, I heard a train horn in the distance. There are no train tracks in that direction for 18 miles. There are also no tall buildings in that direction for about the same distance.
I know the sound was coming from the port a couple miles behind me, on the other side of downtown, and bouncing off the auto repair shop across the street, but still, it was odd.
