What a brutal week.
So, the week started off with one of our core servers going down in the middle of the night. Shalome and I had to head up to LA at 2 in the morning to figure out what the fuck was wrong with it, and then we spent the next 24 hours trying to rebuild it. I managed to get a couple hours of sleep the next day, but Shal only managed a half hour of sleep before we went to bed late the following night.
We took a break from debugging systems that still weren't functioning quite right to head off to Fern's for a drink to celebrate j0ss' first week as our secretary, and talk about redundancy and security with jeremy. This was about the only good moment of the week, as I got surprisingly drunk off a surprisingly small number of drinks, and won three straight games of pool.
We didn't get the problems ironed out until last night, and we were still bringing ancillary services back on line today.
Bleh.
Well, the weekend is looking a bit less chaotic. Shal's mom is in town for the weekend, and we went out to dinner at Real Food Daily in Santa Monica with her. It wasn't nearly as bad as Shal would have you belive, although both the food and service at RFD were less stellar than they usually are.
Sunday, we'll be heading out to visit my Mom and Brother in the fiery wasteland they call Hemet. That should be really nice. I haven't seen them since January, just after my Dad passed away. Shal and I are cooking dinner for them.
bean!
