Yeah, so...I didn't get accepted to the BFA program. Again. It was my second time submitting my portfolio, which means I don't get another chance. With any luck, I'll still be able to get out with a BA in Art with an emphasis in graphic design. But it would've been nice to be able to say I was a graduate of the BFA workshop, and I know it would have been a tremendously valuable experience.
The really crappy thing is that most people who had seen my book considered me among the best applicants, and the 3 people who were friends of mine who did get in all thought I was going to get in for sure. I think that what set me back was that I hadn't taken classes with all of the professors who reviewed portfolios, but that whole thing is lame.
So I'm not entirely sure where to go from here. I'm going to go in and meet with an academic advisor in the next couple weeks and figure out what my options are.
Foo.
Well, at least I had a fun St. Patrick's day. Got entirely too smashed, as I rightly should've since I'm mosty Irish and had just found out that I wasn't going to get the degree I'd been working on for the preceeding 8 years (yeah, I know, it's a long time, but I took a couple years off to get a full time job, get married, get divorced, big stuff like that).
Happy Thursday.
Hey, here's a photo I took that went into my rejected portfolio. I'll put up some more things in my pics when I get around to it.
bean!
