Somehow I've managed to find myself without any plans for Thanksgiving. I was hoping to find some sort of vegetarian or at least vegetarian-friendly event in LA somewhere, but haven't had much luck in that regard. My dad is still in the hospital, and a bit delirious due to the restricted bloodflow to his brain, my brother is going to be working, and my mom's going to be having dinner with my brother's wife and her family, who I don't particularly get along with and who will certainly not have a vegetarian-friendly menu. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they found some way to put meat in the cranberries.
Last year I was on my honeymoon on thanksgiving. Two years before that my ex-wife and I were in Big Sur on a 4-day camping trip for Thanksgiving. I don't see this being a happy occasion if I end up spending it alone, eating Taco Bell on the beach near my house.

In better news, I went back to Vegas again yesterday, and finally got everything handled there that I need to, which means I don't have to make that drive twice in one day again!
I also overestimated the amount of sleep I got Monday night and on my way home found myself just south of the Nevada border getting very, very sleepy. I pulled into a rest stop just south of Baker to take a nap so I didn't die, and woke up at 7am, 3 1/2 hours from home and having to be at work at 9.
I drove 95 almost the whole way and got to work at 9:30 without the luxury of having been able to go home first.
bean!
