Somehow I made it through last night. It's a small miracle.
Went with LTrain to the Halloween Masquerade Ball at the Hollywood Athletic Club. It was wild and crazy, but not nearly as wild and crazy as I thought it was going to be....plus they closed two hours early. I had lots of fun though, got to flirt with a supercute bartender who looked disturbingly familiar, although I was never able to figure out why, and saw The Pleasure Chest's naughty fashion show, which was pretty stellar. We met up with a girl wearing nothing but fishnet and her flamboyant friend who was "just looking for a hot gay guy," and got invited to a special after-hours thing that ended up being at a gay after-hours club, much to my chagrin. LTrain and I left because we were both really tired, and got some food before heading home, and I realized on the way home that I probably shouldn't have been driving when I got lost on the LA freeways after being detoured around a closure and ending up in Pasadena, where I decided I needed to park on the side of the road and just sleep for a bit. I'm glad I did, because I'm not sure I would've made it home otherwise. All in all, it was a lot of fun, but I came really close to crossing the line between fun and stupidity.
I finally got home and slept for a bit, and when I woke up I relized that not only was there ash all over the city from the big fires out in the forest (2 hours east), but there was ash floating around inside my house. Yikes. LTrain's pretty close to that craziness, but she's ok, thankfully. I might go with her and one of her friends to go see Peaches tonight, but I'm not sure yet. If I do, I won't be drinking.
