I love Halloween, but the fact that it always comes so close to my birthday means that I'm rarely able to fully enjoy it or get into the Halloween spirit. This year is no different. It really just feels like another day, for the most part. You might be wondering, "What does 'getting into the Halloween spirit' mean?" In truth, I don't know. It just seems that I used to enjoy the holiday more thoroughly than I have in the last few years. Maybe it's because I've been happier in the last few years than I was for many of the previous years, so I can't wallow in the morbidness of the day. That's a nice theory, I'm going to run with that one.
