I'm beginning to lose my morbid curiosity for LA...either that, or maybe I'm just bitter about the fact that everything closes too fucking early and they don't sell cloves within 5 miles of chinatown.
I take that back. I do still have a fascination with LA. I can't say I love it, because I don't know it that well yet, but I love parts of it, and I want to get to know it better.
The indian food at East India Cafe is delicious, but their "hot" spicy is akin to other Indian restaurants' "medium." Their "medium" is mild, and so forth. However, the ample parking (on La Brea, on a Friday night!!!) makes up for any lack of spices involved.
I liked Hop Louie's last night too, but probably not as much as some of the other sgla kids. The seating sucked and the music was, at best, interesting, but I'll give it another chance because the drinks are strong and cheap and the atmosphere is curious. Of course, the fact that everyone went home at 1am while I was out scouring the LA region for smokes certainly dampened my enthusiasm for the whole deal.
I still love, love, love the Burgundy Room. Maybe moreso as I keep going to other places that just aren't as cool.
I really want to hit up Bar Sinister and/or Dungeon one of these nights, and I just may if Trilo decides to make an event out of it more than a day in advance.

[edited to add:]Damn, I think I killed the Say Something Nice... thread. I may have posted to it one too many times and anyone who reads it has already said something nice about me several times. Bah. I'd revive it myself, but that just seems unethical.
