I overdid it this week. Now it's Friday night and I'm paying the price. The space behind my left eyeball aches like somebody dropped a bowling ball on it and the entire right side of my body is sore.
Why both eye sockets and both halves of my torso are not equally discomforting just adds to the mental frustration of the evening. I can't even say, "I feel like I've been run over by a truck..." While, granted, I have never actually been run over -- by anything, let alone a truck -- I must assume that this type of accident leaves the victim with a well-balanced, full-body pain.
And nobody ever goes around saying, "I feel like I tripped, landed on my eye, and some asshole started beating the exposed half of my body with an aluminum baseball bat." Nobody says that.
I may have to start.
