Only when there is light is there a shadow.
I went to church on Sunday. (and it isn't 'real' church... More of the UU flavor of church)
I went because the cute girl at the gym said she sometimes goes and I thought it might be nice to bump into her in a different environment. - and I've been meaning to go back so I'll take the motivation where I can find it.
The topic on hand was the Jungian concept of the shadow, and how we should learn to cope with our shadows, lest we allow it to grow too strong ala Jeckyl and Hyde. Some of it was good. Some of it doesn't work.
But the above opening statement I thought was very interesting. In a dark room there are no shadows.
The long weekend was great.
I ate good food. I had friends over. There was warmth, camaraderie, feasting, rock-godding, wall climbing.
Friday: missed my appointment wiht my trainer but she let me do one later in the day. Went rock climbing with a friend. Hung out. Watched Star Wars related cartoons and movies.
Saturday: Went to Ikea with the ex. We wandered around, had lunch, hung out, had dinner. I'm not sure what I want out of that. I don't think I want to go back into that relationship just yet.
Sunday: Hung out with Nathaniel and Susan. Had Brunch. watched the Pats game. played Guitar Hero. Cooked ice cream dessert, watched Battle-Star Galactica. We might be hosting New Years at my place. That would be a hoot.
My cable is odd. I have the HD converter box and pay for the basic minimum service.
I get Showtime HD (but not any of the other showtime channels)
I get Oh max and 5star max (but not any of the other cinemax channels)
I don't get any HBO
But I did find out that I DO get all of the Showtime, Cinemax, TMC, HBO on demand shows for zero charge!
So I could watch the Suicide Girls Villa Italy show on late night Showtime options!
or other boobie heaving, gyrating, non-genitalia showing shows that skinamax, or showtime offer. It was like being in middle/highschool again with nudie channels- FOR FREE! (technically not for free since there is the sunk cost of the cable and the HD box every month)
Dark wood or light wood flooring is the question at hand.
