Its quite rare I talk about my family on this blog, but here goes, I wish to cobble together a little dedicatation to my Gran (yes i know its not very SG). I knew Gran when she was retired, but Gran was still very hard working and busy, she was a modern day saint.
As far as I know her husband died fairly young and she had to bring up 6 children, they probably were hard times the welfare state had yet to get going efficiently, she probably knew little of wealth but lots about love and sharing it.
Gran was a strong lady, she had to be, the times/circumstances dictated it.
Sure gran at times could be a bit much, she loved her gossip, and could go on a bit, she once poored a cup of water over me as I was sleeping on the couch at daytime, however she had a big heart, and sweet side.
"She did her best" could easily be etched on her gravestone.
