I recently saw the BBC advertising a new TV show called the seven ages of rock, various pop Icons were to be analyised over 7 weekly shows, including Pete Doherty, which I raised an eyebrow at, hes not a pop Icon , hes more famous for hitting the headlines for non music related stunts and stories.
i saw the first episode which centered around Jimi Hendrix, after a while I became more and more aware it was just an excuse for the BBC to show a load of old clips, combined with a few talking heads throwing in the occasional comment, i found the show a total fraud, I learnt nothing new.
I dont think some of the talking heads had even met Hendrix, there relationship to him was vauge, they did not say they knew him and they did not say they did'nt, it was grey area.
Though I must admit I am not the worlds biggest music lover, (mind you if I could see through it).
