Up and down week for me, which all took place in the slow lane of life but never mind. My cars temperature gauge started shooting upwards as soon the engine was going, the gauge climbed like a jet fighter, it went into the red zone and beyond, it was practically bolt upright,
I had to use public transport, which was not to bad, I think public transport is okay if you make one journey, but if you have a change buses, it gets a bit expensive and tiresome, especially this time off year, out of the cold on a bus, off a bus, back in the cold, wait for a while your bus arrives, all back in the warm, get to your final stop, back in the cold. It can get on your nerves.
I had to have my car taken to the garage, there was a break down in communication, yes he found the problem a faulty temp gauge on the dash, (which I have been advised they no longer make, so I will have to take a trip to the scarp yard). but he also gave the car an MOT which it passed, it worked out well as the old one had 3 months left to run. I never asked for a Mot, but they did not charge me for looking at the overheat problem.
my car is an old Sierra, I have the funds to buy a new one, but I think I will wait until it blows up or gives up the ghost, by another other means's. GCR at work said "people get attached to their cars", he put it so well.
But I have learnt a bit more about cars, and one thing I knew has been confirmed, not many things in this world as as tough as a Ford Engine, there so forgiving, they just keep going. Even if the dials and gauges call it a day.
On another note the thorny issue of relationships. I am going to be positive, its amazing what people like about their partners, Jo Good a DJ on BBC London said the sweetest thing when she said she used to love it when her Ex husband read out loud to her in bed. She loved it, so people are compatible after all,(big cheer)
