Have you ever been in "one of those moods"? How about a history lessom...the origin of the word pummel- to beat with fists- this is a nice word that derived from pommel an alternative spelling for pummel and also the end of a sword...not the pointy part but the large counter weight at the butt end that was designed and used to beat the hell out of your foe. Here are some examples of pommels:
this one is from my black prince sword
from my excalibur...when you want to get beat with style
this one is from my kings sword (viking style) and is a solid piece of brass about 2 inches by 1inch and could literally pound your helm onto your face
and now for my favorite...nothing ornate about it a 2 1/2 inch diameter brass ball that could be used to bash in the skull of man or beast
yep I'm in that kind of mood.....
oh well I'll get over it..I'm going to get a shower then a hair cut
