The Action Man pillow case situation has been resolved to my satisfaction.
Big Meet In Edinburgh
What a brilliant idea!
Tsui, once again, laid plans and then managed to get loads of SGScotland and SGUK bods in the same place at the same time. Brilliant night, long night.
There might be stories knocking about concerning my spectacularly bad pool playing, it truely was that bad. Being the worst player in a group drawn from all over the country surely gives rise to the possibility that I'm among the worst players in the country.
Ham
I am curing a ham in my garage. It's going to take six bloody months. At the moment, I'm managing to avoid tearing open the cloth and getting stuck in about it but I'm not sure what I'll be like by January.
Off Grid
I've been looking into the idea of living 'off grid' (click for explanation, but try and ignore the quasi-political views stated) for a while. The main attraction is the technical challenge and the similarities between living off grid in the UK and living, generally, in somewhere like Africa. I've spent the last few months messing about with things that I need (laptop, cellphone, iPod etc.) and trying to work out how practical it is to expect these things to work off grid.
Living off grid permanently isn't something I'm interested in but I reckon it would be nice to go off grid on holiday for a few months so I'm looking at a van of some kind rather than a building. Somewhat disappointingly, I'm starting to realise that a VW Type 2, which I'd dearly like to use as the base vehicle, simply isn't the best choice.
Internet
I'm being plagued by intermittent, unpredictable connection problems. I've ruled out everything at my end again and again. I managed to do some testing back to some Telco kit and the shitty performance was evident there, too. When the problems occur, I get less than 200kbps!
I know I have an interest in going off grid (see above) but I'm not digging this.

The move has gone fine. Enjoying my course - didn't get bored at all last week, doing make up every day, so that's a bonus! Doing hair next week...which I'm more nervous about. Eep.
