So I finished the first novel in the Vampire Hunter D series yesterday. After waiting 5 long years from first seeing the original anime to just recently when the first novel was translated from Japanese and put on shelves here in the U.S. I have to say it was worth the wait. It wasn't a stellar, soul-shattering experience but it definitely lived up to my expectations as to what the books would be like. Another pleasant surprise was that the movie followed the book fairly closely, unlike most books-turned-film where the two bear almost no resemblance to each other *ahem, starship troopers*. To any D fans out there who may read this, it's well worth the $10 it'll cost you at your local Borders, which is the only place I've seen it so far. The next book comes out in August, which means I'll have to decide between that and the next installment of the Eragon trilogy as to which I read first. Ah, decisions decisions. The new tattoo is pretty much finished healing, just have to keep it lotion'ed up so it doesn't look like social security skin. Now I have to start saving up for the next one I'm getting out of volume 3 of Sin City. That is, if I don't find something to replace it after I read Miller's "300." The tattoo I'm getting is the image of the Spartans at Thermopylae near the end of the book because I'm obsessed with the battle and all things relating to the Spartans of ancient Greece. However, I recently discovered that Miller has a book he did called "300" about the battle of thermopylae, it's supposed to be incredible, so I may find an image in there I like better, we'll see. Anyway, I think that's enough for now. Back to watching the pets do their thang.
