So our Argentinian Couchsurfer ended up not staying with us afterall, but we still met up with him. My roommate, her boyfriend, and I met him during his 2nd day (of 17 days) in town and immediately hit it off. We spent just under 8 hours with him during that first meeting and laughed the whole time. It's not like we did anything terribly exciting, but he was so much fun to be around. We took him to the Seattle Art Museum, wandered down to the first ever Starbucks in Pike Place Market (roommate wanted coffee), and then took him to dinner where sat for 3 hours eating and talking and laughing. Roomie's bf and him played off each other so well with their jokes and Family Guy references, and he rolled jokes off his tongue so easily which had us in stitches laughing constantly. After we dropped him back off at the hostel he was staying at and started driving home, we all looked at each other and agreed on 2 things: 1, that was the funnest night any of us had had in a long time and 2, we're going to miss this guy when he leaves.
I think I was expecting him to be this quiet, reserved, and proper guy, but he ended up being this hilarious, goofy, easygoing, gentlemanly, nice, and genuine guy. We hung out with him quite a bit while he was in town and quickly and very easily became good friends with him. Even my roommate's bf and him formed a bit of a "bromance" and are already making plans to make babies with each other next time he's in town. Since he was in town on business (delivering one of his paintings to the buyer, meeting business contacts, meeting galleries in Seattle and Vancouver, meeting potential future buyers, etc...), he said that with certain contacts and invites, it might be more likely than not that he'll be back before the end of the year. We're definitely looking forward to seeing him again. I dropped him off at the airport this morning. So sad to see him go, but we will see him again, one way or another. I'm going to have to make it down to Argentina some day, and he'll probably be back up here again too.
Nos Vemos, Mr. Argentina
