Many thanks to those of you who wished me a happy birthday
It turned out to be a pretty good one this year. Lunch and museum with friends, vegan cupcake from my roomie, flowers, card and money from ma', and then my new climbing friends kinda threw me a mini party in one of their basements where we played pool, watched Princess Bride, and tossed around balloons. I had a good time.
The days are creeping closer and closer. On Wednesday morning, I leave with my boss (the mom) and the kid to San Diego for 2 weeks. I'm driving down with them (the dad flies down later) in their RV for 21 hours, arriving in San Diego Friday evening. The first weekend involves me watching the kid while the mom races cars. We'll be staying in the RV the whole time which will be parked in an RV lot across the street from the beach. The whole following week, minus 1 probably evening of babysitting, I pretty much get to wander and have some time to myself if I want. I'm going to tag along with them so 2 days in LA at the beginning of that week, and might join them for Sea World, but I still have to figure out what to do with the rest of that week. I think the dad flies in that Friday (still getting details from them) and the 2nd weekend involves more babysitting and both parents racing just South of LA this time. The following Monday-Wednesday will consist of the mom, kid, and me driving back up to Seattle. I'll miss my first day of class on Tuesday but I'll catch the 2nd day on Thursday morning.
What should I do while in San Diego? Any good (art) museums or sites I should see? I was thinking of finding people on Couchsurfing to meet up with during my time off and I figure I'll spend at least 1 day sitting on the beach just reading.

I would have said happy birthday had I known about it. Visit the Museum of San Diego History.

Glad you had a good birthday. Seems like even though this year started off with a recession, it's treating us Pisces good - so far (Knock on wood).
