I've decided to go vegan.
I gave up most meat except for chicken and the occasional turkey back in early March. I stuck to it in Europe where they eat a lot of pig and it's hard to find stuff like chicken sandwiches as an easy meal (you end up living off of sandwiches and whatever you can find at a bakery when you're traveling it seems!). Not to mention, turkey is pretty scarce in most of continental Europe, especially Italy. I learned to be less picky about veggies which makes me a lot more comfortable with making the switch now. I picked up a book a couple of days ago that has made me realize how uttery disgusting the meat industry is as well as dairy-farming, and how unnecissary those things are in your diet. I wasn't "ready to give up" chicken until yesterday when I read something about chicken that made me want to gag. I was actually eating when I read it and I'm so glad I was eating tofu and not chicken. I hadn't eaten chicken since the day before and I don't plan on eating chicken ever again. As of Tuesday, I am a vegetarian. The next challenge is cutting out dairy products. The next few weeks will be hard because I leave in a few days to drive cross-country with my sister and her kids because they're moving and I'm not coming home until the 30th. It's not going to be easy, but I'm going to try finding vegan alternatives as best I can on the road and while I'm there. But once I get back, I'm moving into the basement apartment, where my sister has been living, and I'll have an empty kitchen that I plan to start fresh with and actually learn how to cook... vegan
Here's to not putting toxic chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, rotting flesh, pus, and shit in general (and literally) into my body!

I don't know if I'll ever go vegan entirely, although I try and live as vegan as possible. For now I will just remain a vegetarian.

Good for you! I went vegan back in 2004 (went vegetarian long before that but took more than a decade to go vegan).
