I got a new camera last weekend and I'm kind of in love
It's a Nikon FE-2, one of those old manual cameras with the lever to advance the film.
I got it for only $130 from some guy on craiglist. He said he got it to replace another camera that got stolen but ended up not using it mych and it just sat around for years. I just found out today that the original production date for this model was in 1983 and he bought it new around that time. He said that the shutter would get stuck and I mentioned taking it in to get cleaned/fixed and he gave me $20 back before I left with the camera (I gave him $150). I took it in to get cleaned on Tuesday and the shop owner said to me "This is a $400 camera, how much did you get it for?"... "$130". I got a steal Turns out the shutter's fine and it was just the foam padding in the camera that was aging and getting sticky/greasy and causing the shutter to stick to it. So they replaced that and cleaned it up and my camera is just fine.
I went out to the backyard with my 3 year old nephew and he was a great model for me. He stood still and everything for me! It was funny, cause at one point, I asked him "can I take a picture of you over there?" and he excitedly agreed but then said "but then can we play?' lol He was done taking pictures
Now I just need to get a zoom lens for it. The lens that came with it has no such zoom, it just allows me to focus.
