I went to that Faerieworld Festival in Eugene, Oregon last weekend. It was so much fun. There were people in Faery costumes or other mythical creature costumes everywhere. It was a total hippy fest. And I don't mean druggy hippy, I mean "we love nature" hippy. There were naked children running around, a singer up on stage got the croud in front of the stage to put their arms around each other and sway while she sang.
People were selling their artwork and craftwork all around the festival grounds. I got several pieces of art that I love. I got to meet my favorite artist, Brian Froud, who did the art for Dark Crystal and The Labyrinth. His wife, Wendy, was there too. She's a sculptor and a doll maker, and she made the puppets for both movies. And I met baby Toby from The Labyrinth... though he's certainly not a baby anymore. He's something like 21 and he's quite cute I bought a poster of Toby as a baby surrounded by the goblins from the Labyrinth that Brian drew, and I got Brian, Wendy, and Toby to sign it and Brian drew a little face in the border for me
It was a 5 hour drive each way, but well worth it. I'm excited to go back next year.
I broke my camera during the trip which sucked. The first day we were there, I only took a few pictures and I was planning to take more the second day. When we got to the hotel that night, I put my peach in my bag to take from the car to the room. When I got into the room, I took the peach out and it was damaged. Didn't fully think about what damaged it until the next day when I took my camera out of my back, turned it on, and it immediately zoomed out all the way. The zoom and the buttom to take the pictures were stuck because of the peach juice. I was so pissed. I having my sister take it in to get repaired tomorrow since my work schedule doesn't allow me to take it during their business hours.
My oldest sister is about to explode Her due date is tomorrow (the 7th) and the baby still hasn't come. I call bets on this Friday
