Wow another long awaited blog post.
So I've finally started back doing my own personal shoots again. I took a long hiatus and was only shooting fashion shows...hence no additional shoots for SG. But I'm back...welll not completely I have another fashion show this weekend.
I did get to shoot one my favorite and hottest models last weekend. She was the first model I shot when I started photography about 7 years ago. And we have still been friends since. But we realized we had only shot 4 times during those years and that last shoot was probably in 2007. So we vowed to shoot more often.
What kind of shoot was it you ask? Well I set up a high fashion shoot with a great location. Scouted the location the night before..and itw as good. In the morning on the way to get the model I stopped by again and it was locked...but me being the wiley photographer that I am...had a back up plan. So it was a high fashion shoot in a different location, same ideas right? Then I got to her place and we looked at the clothing for the shoot and other clothing had. We also discussed some ideas she wanted...ENTIRE SHOOT changed (and this was for the better). Some how we went from an outdoor fashion shoot to an indoo Dominatrix shoot! It was going to be incredible. We drove all the way back from NYC to NJ (about an hour drive) start setting up indoors, but the set up was messed up and unable to shoot. No problem. We simply improvised a couple of sets. Completely off the top of our heads improvised lets shoot here and do this type shoot. Shot absolutely none of the clothing we had originally planned but somehow packed extras and mixed and matched.
The outcome..mix between high fashion, glamour, and fetish. It's actually pretty sick. Imagine an sexy housewife at home enjoying a glass of wine in a stripper dress with a whip. It was probably the best outcome of a shoot we've had together. Turned out to be such an incredible concept and we are already plotting shooting again.
It's incredibly hard to find chemistry between a photographer/model like that. For a shoot to change that many times and still not work as planned at least one side would normally be pretty upset, but we both rolled iwith the flow, threw in ideas and had a fun time planning it. We actually spent the entire day prepping and shooting. There was complete comfort in knowing that we would get good shots and just complete comfort on the set. It was probably my favorite time shooting in a long while.
So yeah I'm back shooting projects other than fashion shows. THat means I'm open to shooting for SG again too.
