Hey, SGLand!
It's been a while since I wrote my last blog homework. Here I am, back again. :)
I'm a real fan of music in general and I really loved this week's theme!
As some of you know, I'm graduated in Chemistry. I suffered a lot in college because of anxiety and some traces of social phobia, panic crisis and stuff. I'm afraid of public speaking, which impairs my performance in some college subjects.
Teachers doesn't want to know about your problems or mental disorders, they just want you to do what you have to do. To complete the course, you must present the final work. That was the problem: I had panic attacks when I needed to speak in public. Medication didn't work with me, I spent a lot of time locked up in my room listening to one of my favorite bands: U2.
One of those days I listened to a song called Song for Someone and I mean it, the lyrics changed my life. I started to listen this music like 24/7 and it encouraged me to do what I had to do. This song is really important to me, this band helped me a lot with my anxiety. I love them so much.
"If there is a light, you can't always see
And there is a world we can't always be
If there is a dark, now we shouldn't doubt
And there is a light, don't let it go out"
This song/lyric is so important to me that I tattooed it as a birthday gift in 2016, so I can never forget it. 💝
Love,
Barbs
