happy valentine's day, everybody! hope you got to spend today with people that you love, romantically or otherwise.
we left for north carolina monday night at 9 PM, and pulled in tonight around 10. i think it was ten. pretty good time considering a snowstorm, eh? i have decided that the south needs to import northerners to teach them how to plow the roads. there was a 3 inch thick layer of ice coated with slush, sleet, and freezing rain...their reasoning being that they wanted the snow (which later turned into the slush) to act as a nice "absorbant cushion" for the sleet/freezing rain to rest on. assanine, huh? thankfully, no one got killed today, though there were more eighteen wheelers off the road than i'v ever seen in my life. one of the people we met down in harrisburg told us that the mayor said this snowstorm would bankrupt them. foolishness. i simply don't understand. bet then, they have a longer summer than we do. six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Hopefully you guys will get it together and you can have fun while you're there. That's the beauty of having kids though; if you get sick of her, you can have your kids distract her while you run screaming into the night.
