I am fed up to here with my son's doctor. Let me give you a little back story. Jareth is only 8 weeks old. He has had rapid breathing since he was born. Doctor didnt say anything about it when she checked him in the nursery. Well I took him in for his one-month checkup. She listens and says he breathes 2 times what a normal infant does. She orders a chest x-ray. I oblige though i think this is absolutely crazy. She calls and tells me everything is normal. Well she tells me she wants him to have a barium swallow. Even though his x-ray was normal. Well my mom is a nurse and thinks this too much. Well they keep calling and harassing me and basically calling me a shitty mommy. Well they trick me into coming in for just a follow-up. The pediatrician berates me once again. One of the issues I had was they were scheduling the barium swallow without my permission or asking my schedule. This is a traumatic test for someone not even 2 months old. He is not allowed to eat 3 hours before the test is given! Yeah how are you supposed to make a newborn not eat for 3 hours? Well they said they would not schedule it again without asking me. Well what happens later the next week? I get a phonecall reminding me about my appointment. Well the poor baby already has a head cold and croup. I am not about to pour barium in him. Well they now send him to have an echocargiogram and EKG. They turn out normal too. Well now they call and say lets do bloodwork. I am so fed up beyond belief and am pissed off. I am sick with a cold and bronchitis too. Sorry about the long vent.
