I had sooo much fun last weekend! Holly snd I drove over to Oxford, MD early early Saturday morning and the fun started as soon as we got there and didn't stop until we left Sunday night!
First, when we got there we were taking all of our stuff to my parents boat, where we were staying, and who do we meet?! Matthew McConoughey! I almost died! Apparently he and Sarah Jessica Parker were filming a movie in Oxford called 'Failure to Launch'. He was really nice to us but everybody in town said he was an asshole but she was really nice. We didn't meet her because she finished filming and left on Friday, but our boat was docked right next to the boat that he stayed on, the Irony. . see!
I think the boat is in the movie too but I'm not sure.
Any way, after we unloaded our stuff we went and saw every body and left for the first race. I didn't sail in the first race, I got to hang out with Holly on the chase boat and catch some sun, as you can see, I needed it. . .
After the first race every body went back to BoJan (my uncle's absolutely gorgeous yacht that the rest of the crew stays on) for lunch and then I suited up to go and sail in the second race of the day. We had a little trouble getting the jib sail up the second time around so I was forced to stand on a poor crew members back and get it un stuck. . .
He said it was teamwork, I said that he must hurt, so I bought him a drink after the race was over.
Then on Sunday I sailed again in the race that day and then everybody got all schnazied up for the big regatta party at the Harliegh House, which is amazing in itself!
It was soooo hot too! Everybody was sweating and jumping in the pool in their clothes
This is the crew before we left to go out to dinner. . .
Then we went back and changed and went out to dinner at Schooner's Landing (they have the BEST mudslides ever!) before Holly and I left to go home.
In other news, my car is not doing well. . My dad and I still haven't gotten the old heater core out but we only have to figure out how to get one more part off before we can get it out, then we have to put it back together and I have to work tomorrow so I won't be around to help him do it. . . . so I hope it goes well so that I can still go down to SouthernBelle's place for her b-day bash this weekend!
