Hmmm... where to start? Or hell, even what to say for that matter...
I'm kind of sick, which rather sucks because I have my big trip coming up soon. Nothing really serious, just coughing a lot. I coughed so much and so hard on Friday that I lost my voice. I'm slowly starting to get it back though. I can assure you, anyone that knows me, not being able to talk was like slow torture... especially when I had to keep repeating myself. I felt kind of weird on account that my all time least favorite word uttered by someone that speaks the English language is "Nevermind." Yet I myself had said it MANY times over the last week. I don't know, perhaps I was beginning to feel a tinge hypocritical or something.
Sunday, on Cinco De Mayo, I went to Dayton to visit a friend in from Vegas. A blast was had and I was surprised that it could happen in Dayton of all places. I suppose the old adage about it not mattering where you are, but who you're with is considerably true. We actually... well, I think "Closed down the bar" is an understatement... the staff was actually leaving before we finished. Lights on, chairs up... and I think there were two bartenders left before we had to leave because they were. Haha, those are the moments...
Next weekend or so, coming up very soon is Rock On The Range. For those of you that don't know, it's this thing in Columbus every late May, that I sometimes consider as a birthday present from the world, that's a whole three day weekend of concerts from some really great bands. Think 50,000+ people to see the likes of Godsmack, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie... bands that kind of run in that vein. Anyhow, this year was going to be the best one yet, for me anyhow. There's a solid 16 bands that I really want to see. However, alas, I chose to go on my trip instead. Seriously, go to my profile and under my top ten bands, six or seven of them are going to be there this year. Fucking BUSH!!! Soundgarden! Bullet For My Valentine! Man the list goes on...! I suppose that goes to show how much this trip means to me. Especially knowing that to see the 16 bands live otherwise, it'll probably take a decade or two. Look at this fucking line-up!

On the 31st, the Columbus SG is having their party, yet, I'll miss it. Haha, true to my luck, this is apparently going to be the biggest one yet. So if you're going to be in the Columbus area, or shit, even just Ohio, be sure to go.

Interestingly, sidebar: I actually think this is a cool photo of Phecda. Oh, funny story, I was sitting in my Ancient Civilizations: Greece class last week and this girl walks in late and sits down across the way. No shit, she actually looked like Phecda. A very similar face, body, tattoo placement and all. Now, for those of you that don't know, it's sometimes hard for me to see... much in contrast to my own denial, so I couldn't really see what the tattoos were of. I mean, we live in the same city and I don't follow her around, so who knows, it could've been her. Stranger things have never changed my mind. So, I'm on my phone going back and forth with ThanatOZ about how I think it might be her, but I couldn't see the tattoos and she's encouraging me to keep looking harder and it just seemed kind of funny, as I'm typing away in the middle of class, then looking up and squinting really hard, then just shouting out "What, no... I think the Alexander's greatest enemy was Phillip himself!" then typing again... then rinse and repeating a bunch of times all throughout class. The guy behind me was laughing because he saw what was going on. It all just seemed kind of funny at the time. I don't think she was Phecda, but it was a welcomed distraction nonetheless.
Hmm... I think that might be it for now. Then again, if I think of anything later on, I could probably just add it.
Oh oh... I finally did it. I went vegan. No, I'm not one of those "Meat is murder" activist types... not to say that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not me. I've been wresting with this for about three years now. A friend of mine (Three years ago) who was very into working out and such like that Zusanna girl, went vegan and she was talking about it after the first month, that she was able to sleep better, and dream, she was more energetic, she was sharper, she was leaning out... and she just didn't feel bogged down and had a generally better feeling overall. Now, as someone that used to model, I've been somewhat neurotic, much to the dismay of those around me, to get back to my model body, or... if possible, even better. But in a more natural way. I didn't want to have to depend on supplements or crazy workout/nutritional routines that lose their appeal after the first couple months. So, this seemed like an option. I've actually heard similar stories as my friend's from other people too. Like my one friend that only went Vegan for a month, just to shut his girlfriend up and he actually never looked back, because he noticed the differences too. So, in anticipation for my trip to Colombia this month, I was informed that I couldn't eat meat for a time before something that is to take place down there... so I figured, if I'm going to do it, I might as well do it. And I made the plunge. Also, I haven't had milk in about a month, due to something that I saw in a video and some of the facts about it. By all means, continue to drink it, I'm not here to preach. I was at Starbucks the other day and I got a vanilla soy latte (I usually only get the lattes or at home, just use some milk, as I find a lot of flavored creams just distract from the flavor of the coffee... I mean, if I splurge on Kona coffee, I want a damn reason for it, why mask it with Hazelnut creamer? Although, at Starbucks, you really can't choose your coffee, so I get some vanilla in there) and I don't know what it was, but damn it was delicious. By far, the best latte I've had there. By far...

I can't actually remember that much about Who's That Girl?, apart from Madonna, Griffin Dunne and a big cat. I just remember that I saw it when I was 7 or something and didn't think much of Madonna's acting skills. Yup, I started picking up on bad acting from an early age.
I just checked on Google Maps and you're right about Colombia being "the hair tie that connects the ponytail of Panama and Central America to the head of South America. Panama does kinda look like a ponytail.
I didn't quite give the double thumbs up to the wall, but I did smile when I realised why you'd described it the way you did.
That sounds like a great idea, about immigrants being granted citizenship if they serve 4 years in the US military. Just my own opinion though...
You're right about Duran Duran and INXS releasing great albums in the 90's, I kinda lumped them in with the bands who get better with age.
Paul McCartney... I was never a Beatles fan and that was because of Paul McCartney.
I get annoyed when people always go on about the "amazing song writing duo of Lennon and McCartney". Personally I think Lennon did most of the work and McCartney added the occasional lyric and took half the credit for the songs...
If McCartney was such a talented songwriter, how come he wrote shit like The Frog Chorus, Say Say Say, Pipes of Peace, Wonderful Christmas Time and other such atrocities?
It's like the amazing songwriting team of Simon and Garfunkel... Bullshit! It was clearly all Simon, because look at the solo career he's had compared to Garfunkel and both Garfunkel's hit solo singles were written for him!
*gets off soap box*
I debated having Firestarter, on that blog, but I always preferred Breathe. Will probably include it on my next blog, with some more classic Prodigy songs. Ha! I can't believe people never realised he was singing "Psychosomatic addict insane"...
I can't say I've heard of Mazzy Star and Poe, I guess they never quite made it into the UK charts...
Unfortunately the first one wouldn't play. It said "The uploader has not made this video available in your country". D'oh!
The other songs were great, really good cover of Wild Horses by The Sundays. The only cover of Wild Horses I'd heard before this one was Susan Boyle's cover. This one was far better!
I can imagine they thought you were insane when you did the hardcore dancing to Firestarter, especially since they'd never seen you acting like that before.
I can't say I've heard a song that makes me want to destroy anything yet, but that's probably because I know I'd have to clean it up afterwards...
I'm intrigued by the Rusty Fish Hook term you coined...
I haven't seen all of Body of Evidence, I think I saw the second half of it, so it didn't make much sense. She got naked though, so that was good enough for me.
I strongly agree with your thoughts on making military service mandatory and I also think that some of your ideas would help people better themselves.
Have you considered a career in politics?
I understand what you mean about people that haven't traveled anywhere in their lives. There's a few folk like that here, they've never left Shetland because they think there's enough to see and do here...
What a crock of shit! My opinion is: get off your dumb ass and see the world before you die for Christ sakes!
I forgot about Live and Let Die, I was too busy ranting about the shit songs he's churned out over the years, I forgot the one good song... He definitely shot his load on that song, which of course lead to the amazing Guns 'N' Roses cover.
Sounds like an awesome costume, I bet it went down a storm at the party!
