Site hasn't let me update, what is that nonsense?
Anyway, assuming it works now, the little one just went down for a nap after sleeping ALL NIGHT (by all night I mean 12:30 til 5:30, then from 6 until 8:30, which nonetheless pleases her mommy and daddy very much) so I figured I'd have a brief online. She ate alot so I should have a fairly lengthy space of time in which to do things I haven't gotten to do in awhile... namely shower and eat, LOL.
Ed's off from work today and he's so good with her that I think it's gonna be a good day. And my parents are gonna watch her for a little bit later so we can go to the Chinese Buffet and maybe Wal-Mart or something. Cuz I've been home with her since Sunday and previous to that, the hospital (duh).
She is such perfection I cannot even express it. She's so small (yet so big) and soft and sweet and wonderful. For the most part, she's quiet and happy, but she's fidgety (like her mom) and has an enormous appetite (like her dad) so that can make for some exasperating momenst. She also likes to fuss for her nuk-nuk and then spit it out every 37 seconds, and poop when her diaper is getting changed or freshly changed. But she always looks so pleased with herself when she does it, which is adorable, so I don't mind. I love being a mom and a housewife
So you ladies probably want to know about the labor. It wasn't THAT bad. I mean, it hurt like hell, but it didn't last long... labor for seven hours, pushing for almost two. ANd it went by quick. They gave me this shit called Nubane, which made me drowsy between contractions but did nothing for the pain. It sucked and I'm not gonna have it with the next baby... I mean, if it's not going to help with the pain, then I want to be awake and alert for what's going on. Especially cuz there were a few times when the baby's heartrate decelerated and then all these people came running in like it was ER, and the doctor was yelling for them to "open up the back, we're gonna need to get her out!" and I'm just laying there all doped up, breathing oxygen and wondering what the hell is going on.
But everything turned out okay and I eneded up delivering her vaginally. She came out and they laid her on my belly, all gooey and wet and annoyed, and she was so perfect and beautiful that Ed and I both started crying. I still cry alot... both beacuse I'm so happy but alos because I'm crazy hormonal, LOL. And our parents and siblings came in and looked at her and I breastfed her for the first time and we bonded and it was great. I couldn't have asked for anything better or more wonderful than my Ed and my Emily, two people who have managed to make me feel so absolutely complete when I didn't even think anything was missing.
Thank you all so much for your kind comments and best wishes. Hopefully soon I can spend more time thanking you guys personally... and I have to say a big thanks to Llona, midwife-in-training-extraordinaire, for being so insanely sweet and answering all of my questions and being supportive and informative and awesome.
