I also have a still-broken wrist that the orthopedic surgeon kinda, uh, missed last August. And I've been wondering why I've had so goddamned many problems with this hand.

i hate the situation for you...that's for damn sure. i used to be shy around people i liked, and then that shifted for me in my late 20's. it wasn't an intentional shift, it just shifted on its on.
as far as my 78's, i sinked a shit load into a new turntable back in january (almost a grand). this one was purchased b/c it played 78's and had the necesarry equipment to do analog to digital conversion so i could burn to cd.
oh, i forgot to tell you i like the self-portrait you are working on. looking forward to the finished product.
