updates updates, and more updates... I did get my bike back and so I have been out enjoying that until this rain broke in . Spent last week doing a surface supplied air course for underwater work and ended up spending a few days helping to search for the body of a boy who drowned in a lake nearby...Yes that was kinda creepy but I...

So I am looking for an Apartment in the west/Olympia area. (or an exceedingly cool roommate) Still want to get that houseboat but I figured I should take my time shopping on that one and grab an apt# for now ARRR!!!

Meh.

That's all I can really say.

I would totally live on a boat if they weren't so expensive to maintain, especially in the PNW. Did you get your bike yet? Today is the Oyster Run, but I hate riding with all the weekend warriors so I'm missing it.

So I will be diving for work tomorrow and we have planned to sneak off and go investigate a shipwreck while no-one is watching With any luck the boss doesn't read my SG blog and I'll try to get some pictures. ARRR!!!

I need more punk versions of sea shanties and pirate music so anyone who knows of any lemme know
zpo:
Ay yes.. the old "sneak off during the work dive and examine the shipwreck" trick. smile

As much as I wonder what is in some of the "lakes" here, I have no interest in taking a dive to find out.
fattyfatty2x4:
Punk versions of sea shanties? you've got to hook me up. GL with the dive. Exhale as you come up and all that jazz. smile

Spent all weekend hiking up the Hoh River in the Olympic rain forest. Its impossibly beautiful and has exactly the sort of enchanted forest feel and look to it that you just expect some sort of magical creatures to come walking out of the woods and start telling you about some quest involving a dragon or something. No princesses or dragons though. Just a few...

I really want to get back to Olympic. I was only able to spend a couple days there a few years back and it was amazing.

Nice wildlife photography. wink I love the Olympic range/forests/Northwest. So ridiculously beautiful.

Today I put a net underwater with a starfish and a geoduck (*see also 'big ass clam') It reminded me of when people would put a camel spider in a 2 liter bottle with a scorpion in Iraq. I'm not sure this passes as science. Any rate The aquatic cage matches will continue until we find out who or what is eating our clams. And...

Yea I hope so. I've been doing better. And for the record, I only eat clams that give me the "eye"
hephaestos:
dude, seriously! i want to see video of the big ass spider versus the big ass other arachnid. super duper sweet. i'd give the advantage to the scorpion simply because he's been on land the longest, shows he's a fighter.

and life is very nice. i move into the barbacking by the end of the month. right now i'm just busing full time which kinda sucks. saturday is my first tipped shift, though, so it'll be sweet! the only downside is that the valves on my right cylinder are all sorts of loose so it sounds like i've got a full on team of mining gnomes in there trying to crack into my engine when i start it up.

that reminds me of this thing i overheard at one of the tables. not about clams but about letting yourself go like oprah in her fat phase. lovely.

big thanx to the folks at SG for letting me merge my old account into the new one. I had some writings from Iraq and such I'd lost on my old computer. Now it's on to getting my new pictures up and so forth ARRR!!!

Return to the primordial ooze...

So I've suddenly gone from someone who has hardly ever played in the Ocean (I was spoiled by growing up on the great lakes) to spending a great deal of my time working under water. Granted I've been warned that Puget sound does not equal the Ocean but whatever It's briny and deep enough for the purposes of this blog...

I'm a clam farmer of a different sort... miao!! ARRR!!! I've spent most of my off hours this week watching "Shark Week" learning all about the top of the food chain under the ocean. I remember hearing the freighters from Lake St. Claire growing up. I've always preferred living near water, without it my sense of direction is a bit wonky. Do you get much of a chance to get up to Seattle?
kekelyn:
Haha; I've only played in the Ocean once; and I SO want to do it again; so many things to discover.. I'm jealous of those that live by the ocean. hhaha

When I saw "Clam Farmer" in your profile I thought you were making a crude (yet funny) joke. Who'da thunk you were serious. Is that seasonal?

New town, new people, New job, life and etc. I went into town tonight but flying solo I felt more like odd man out than usual. I don't drink either so there I am wired up on redbulls and chatting people up or just looking like some creepy loner lurking on the wayside. It;s so weird going clubbing solo-style. I must admit I miss my...
