Very happy panda right here
All the things that have been upsetting me of late seem to have come right
*Problem: I was really worried about my essay- the deadline's Wednesday and my illness has made me fall way behind...
Win: The head of department heard about my woes from my tutor and has granted me a 4 day extension
* Problem: Working on a group presentation was already pretty impossible logistically, then one by one all the members dropped out meaning that Group One was... me. So in addition to the essay, in a similar amount of time I suddenly had to produce the work of 3 people on my own.
Win: Again the dept head came to my aid - he's working on getting student admin to give permission for me to write a longer essay (3,000) instead of doing the presentation & short essay, and with a much longer deadline :3
*Problem: A nasty chest infection has its claws in me. I'm getting no sleep thanks to coughing fits and I'm petrified about going back to work for my weekend shift on no sleep.
Win: Ok, I'm still ill and still coughing like I'm training for the Coughing Olympics (that's a thing, right?) but last night I had my first proper night's sleep for days and as a result I don't feel anywhere near as rough
*Problem: I was feeling all squishy
Win: Turns out I've lost half a stone since October, and a stone and a half (21lbs) since last March. Suddenly feeling less squishy!
OK, now, this is my favourite thing that has me grinning muchly...
*Problem: I had a huge crush on my friend, but I had no idea how he felt about me. Thoughts about this were doing cartwheels in my head pretty much constantly and I was getting more and more wound up.
Win: I ended up blurting it out to him. Turns out he likes me too. We're going on a date in April :3 (it's far off because of uni and work commitments - I'm not complaining, gives me chance to lose more weight and get my hair sorted!
)
So yeah, pretty chuffed today
Here are some extras that are contributing to the happy panda stance...
*I got a distinction for Module 2 - so then so far I've got straight distinctions for my Masters! (getting nervous about my research essay coming back for Module 7 though, eek!)
*My Dad's not working at the moment (he's a freelance fire proofer) - he's glad about it as it gives him chance to rest, and it means as well he's popping up to ours with my little brother more often - and he's cooking again! On Thursday he fetched up some leftover lasagne he'd made and some delicious coconut biscuits he'd baked that day - win!
*I'm talking more often to my best friend - although we hadn't lost touch per se, we've gone from living together for 3 years to living at opposite ends of the country. This and life being crazy has meant that we've hardly been talking properly. But of late we've been talking more and more and we're determined to make this a regular thing
*My family got me Bridesmaids on DVD and are taking me for Chinese food in the Easter Holidays to celebrate my academic win :3
*The continuing existence of Norway, Pandas, and Biscuits
<3
On the whole though - I'm still grinning like a Cheshire Cat about the date
What have been super awesome things for you guys this week?
