Greetings, lovelies!
I hope you're all well and that February is treating you kindly.
I'm not too bad, I feel I'm coping quite admirably all things considered (btw, these things now also include drama with my presentation group at uni - Joey doesn't share food: Roxy doesn't share coursework! I am not designed for working in groups! >.< :p). I've been letting myself mope and eat crap and be lazy since the breakup and I'm feeling like now is the time to get my butt into gear :3
I'm making a few promises to myself: I'm losing some more weight (I've finally lost the weight I put on over my last break up, but I want to lose more, dammit!
), I'm working out more, I'm working harder at uni, and - most importantly - I'm spending an awful lot more time with my friends. That last one is hugely important to me - when I was with my ex I hardly saw my friends, a month could pass and I'd spend a grand total of 8 hours with them. This wasn't just over-investment in the bf, this was also due to a general internal malaise. But now I feel better, fresher, happier and I have an awful lot more time on my hands. So now I'm making a pledge to myself: I'm not going to go a week without seeing at least one of my friends, even if only for a quick drink. It's a bit awkward as all my friends work weekdays while I work weekends, but so far so good (2 for 2 so far :p) and I've even said yes to an invitation to go clubbing with some workmates, even though I don't know them very well (I'm quite nervous! >.<
.
Unfortunately, my 2 closest friends are still far, far away: Robyn in Hull (though I'm hoping to visit her soon
) and Sadie is in Portsmouth (though I should be seeing her in June
) - but they're still here for me. Sadie's made it clear that she's always at the other end of the phone. Meanwhile Robyn - who hated my ex with a passion - has made it clear that she's very proud of me for ending the relationship and sent me this as a present to show it...
This weekend's been rather chilled: I spent last night hanging out with my friends, eating pizza, drinking strawberry cider (I had one and went giggly - lightweight) and playing card games. I spent today at work and, as I'm doing the long shift tomorrow, I'm spending tonight indoors: doing reading for my course and the odd chore (the exciting life I lead
).
What are your plans for what's left of the weekend?
