Its over! Its finally over! ..the second year of uni, that is.
I had my final exam yesterday morning, it was awful and Im pretty sure I cocked it up, but thats okay because Im free!
(and because your worst 40 credits arent counted anyway
)
I celebrated by eating blueberry cookies while watching last weeks Doctor Who
I topped it off today with a spot of retail therapy: books, tights and a butterscotch milkshake
It was made all the better by being served with the most awesome bloke ever to work at a Waterstones, we ended up chatting about Discworld books for a while and arguing over whos better: Rincewind or Vimes (clearly its Vimes
)
Speaking of which, has anyone seen the trailer for Sky Ones Going Postal? Good gods it looks good:
I always find the adaptations a bit lacking in some way, but nonetheless theyre still a lot of fun, and I always end up getting the DVD. Besides, Tamsin Greig, Andrew Sachs, Steve Pemberton, Richard Coyle... Id be mad to miss it
Things are back to being hectic after today, however: tomorrow my friends and I are going out to a magical bar in Wimbledon that serves 2-for-7 cocktails as big as your head in the same instance as cheap (but high quality) steak and muffins for some full-on indulgence before hitting a karaoke bar to embarrass ourselves in style!
, Friday will therefore be an attempt at combining hangover recovery and packing before my aunty comes down to see the final of Over the Rainbow (I like musicals, I like trash TV, so sue me
) which will take all day since its a live recording, and then (hypothetically) taking all my stuff back to Yorkshire on Sunday morning.... and Im not even going to mention whats on schedule after that
As such, I figure for now at least its worth catching up with trash TV, with Being Human, and with a whole lot of non-academic reading.
In other news, did anyone hear about this? In South Yorkshire a man was arrested, interrogated for seven hours, was fined 1000 and lost his job, all because of a tweet he didnt quite think through. Im not sure if Im angry, sad, or indifferent to this I say the last of the three because I suppose that this sort of thing doesnt really stun me anymore, which in its own way is rather sad. But David Mitchell says it better than I could in his article here.
Anyway, I digress, how are you all?
