The last month has been just a terrible ride. I can't stress enough how much I really want to leave for a little while until things get all better.
1. about 3 weeks ago, we decided to go out and blow off some steam. I had a little too much already while at Braden's parents' house for Thanksgiving, but I figured since I had turkey supper I'd be ok. Raina, Nicole, Blair, Jill and I started hammering back Vodka and finished off 1/4 of a bottle of Smirnoff and then 1/2 a bottle of SKYY. We headed to O'Hanolans (got maybe 1-2 drinks) and Blair & Jill wanted to go to another bar to go dancing. I'm hammered as can be...so was Raina...we thought nothing of it. We were at the other bar for maybe...15, 20 minutes at the most, dancing, talking to old friends when Raina started screaming and crying. All we could hear from her was that she had been drugged. Yeah. Drugged. She couldn't get up, she was wailing at the top of her lungs, and it was of course raining outside that evening. Blair popped her over his shoulder and carried her outside as Jill & I pulled the car up so we could take her to the hospital. As Blair was coming outside and down some wet stairs, Raina flung her arms and legs and he slipped, and naturally dropped her. I tried to catch her but still hit her wrist on the curb. Needless to say, we got her into the car, and we took her to the hospital, but as we got there, Raina started having a seizure, and Nicole couldn't get her out so I had to grab Raina, while she was seizing, and I took every ounce of strength in my body to hold her up...and the paramedics finally grabbed her and took her away. She screamed for probably 45 minutes, while we were siiting in the waiting room. Scared, worried, blaming ourselves...and did I mention some of us had an excess of alcohol. I won't give you the painful details of the rest but she was released. Raina is fine and she wasn't drugged. Raina hadn't eaten in a couple of days. Raina had such low levels of potassium and calcuim that her body was trying to reject the alcohol, but her blood alcohol level was at 0.32. For those who aren't aware, that means she was 4 times past the legal limit.
2. Money is very tight. I worked so hard all summer for my tuition payments, to have enough to get by. And I don't. I can barely afford to live in my apartment, and go to school. I have a shitty job, where I work almost full time and I am a full time student. I have no time, no money and it is making me miserable. It is actually starting to get a little better...but for a couple of weeks, it was just too much.
I realize now how long this blog must be, so I regress, things have been shitty but I'm not looking for pity, so please don't think I do. I just needed to get the Raina situation off my chest. Because I've told her this so many times but it just keeps staying there in my brain about how much she scared the shit out of me, of us. I thought she was dying...and wow. That was probably one of the worst nights of my life.
